A reader built for long documents, small screens and tired eyes.

Smooth, sharp zoom

Pinch or double-tap to zoom up to 6×. When you stop, the visible part of the page is re-rendered so text and lines stay crisp instead of turning blurry.

Scroll or Book mode

Scroll continuously, or switch to Book mode and swipe page by page with snapping. Change it any time from Reading.

Day, Night and Sepia

One tap on the theme button cycles through Day, Night and Sepia. Set the brightness from inside the reader and keep the screen on while reading.

Search with highlights

Full-text search finds every match, highlights it on the page and lists results with a text snippet. Jump to the next or previous match with the arrows.

Contents, bookmarks and thumbnails

Open the Pages sheet for page thumbnails, the table of contents (when the PDF has one) and your bookmarks. Tap the bookmark icon to save a page.

Select, copy and highlight text

Long-press a word and drag to extend the selection. Copy it, or turn it into a highlight, underline or strikethrough.

Resume where you stopped

PDF Viewer remembers the last page of every document and shows a Continue reading card on the home screen.

Read aloud and auto scroll

Let your phone read the document using its text-to-speech voice, or start gentle hands-free auto scroll with adjustable speed.

Text view

Switch to a reflowed text view with adjustable font size when a page is too small to read comfortably.

Password-protected PDFs

Open protected files by entering the password. Links inside a PDF (pages and web addresses) work as expected.

Scanned PDFs that contain only pictures have no selectable text, so search, copy and read aloud are not available for them (there is no OCR yet).

PDF Gallery & Output PDFs

Find, organize and reuse every document without digging through folders.

In-app PDF Gallery

See every PDF on your phone in one grid or list, grouped by folder (Downloads, WhatsApp, Documents…). Search by name and sort by date, name or size.

Star important documents and find them under Favorites. The recent list keeps your last 200 files.

Output PDFs

Everything PDF Viewer creates — scans, merged files, edited copies, compressed files — is saved in Documents/PDF Viewer and listed in the Output tab where you can open, rename, share or delete it.

Draw boxes, ovals, lines and arrows to point things out.

Draw your signature once, save it, and place it on any page. Drag to position and resize with the corner handle.

Photos and stamps

Add an image such as a logo or stamp and position it where you want.

Undo, redo and eraser

Change your mind freely: undo and redo up to 80 steps, erase single marks or duplicate and delete selected items.

Saved as a new PDF

Tap Save to write the marks into a fresh copy in Output PDFs. The original file is never modified.

Scan one or many pages with automatic edge detection, perspective fix and clean-up, then save them as one PDF. Powered by Google’s on-device ML Kit scanner.

Pick photos, reorder them, rotate each one and choose Magic, Gray or Black & White filters. Set page size (A4, Letter, Legal, A5 or fit image), orientation, margin and quality.

Share from other apps

Share images from your gallery to PDF Viewer to start a PDF, or choose PDF Viewer to open any PDF from files, mail and chat apps.

The document scanner is provided by Google Play services. On first use your phone may download the scanner component, which needs an internet connection once.

Extract chosen pages, split every N pages, or turn custom ranges such as 1-3, 4-6 into separate files. Pick pages visually from thumbnails.

Page numbers and watermarks

Add page numbers in six positions and four formats, or stamp a text or image watermark (centered, diagonal or tiled) with adjustable size and opacity.

Compress & protect

Smaller files, safer files.

Compress

Four levels from Light to Maximum. The first three shrink the images inside the PDF and keep text selectable; Maximum converts pages to images for the smallest result. If a file can’t get smaller, PDF Viewer tells you instead of saving a bigger one.

Password protection

Lock a PDF with a password using AES encryption and choose whether printing, copying and editing are allowed.

Remove a password

Know the password? Create an unlocked copy so you no longer have to type it.

App lock

Require fingerprint, face or your screen lock each time the app opens.

Remember your passwords. A password you set cannot be recovered by us or by the app — there is no reset.

Save pages as PNG or JPG at Standard (150 dpi), High (220) or Ultra (300) quality. Images are saved to Pictures/PDF Viewer.
